William L. Keating: In Memoriam
Phone/Direct Dial: (303) 534-0401
Bill’s experience as one of Colorado’s leading plaintiff’s attorneys earned him numerous recognitions and awards over the course of his career. He was listed in the Best Lawyers of America for more than 20 years and was selected as the Lawyer of the Year by the organization four times, in Personal Injury Litigation – 2009, Product Liability Litigation – 2010, Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs in 2013 and Products Liability Litigation – Plaintiffs in 2014.
Additionally, Bill’s peers recognized him as one of the top 10 lawyers in Colorado in Colorado Super Lawyers from 2008 to 2014. And he was listed in that publication since its inception in 2007.
His love of the law and helping his clients also earned him invitations to the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, whose membership is limited to 500 Fellows in the United States, and the American College of Trial Lawyers, which represents less than the top one percent of lawyers in Colorado and the U.S.
In 2012, Bill’s alma mater, the University of Denver, honored him with its Thompson G. Marsh Award, which recognizes outstanding accomplishments over the course of a recipient’s career.
Bill always displayed unflagging support for his clients, a deep well of compassion for those who sought his assistance, and continuing patience for the countless lawyers and friends who he taught.
Bill was so much more than a trial lawyer. He collected friends throughout his life. Whether it was opposing counsel on a large case, a client whose life he changed for the better, or a member of his staff, Bill permanently affected each and every one of those people. Bill gave of himself to every person he met.
Keating Wagner Polidori Free is mourning the loss of its great colleague, advocate, teacher, and friend, and we hope to carry on Bill’s legacy with each and every one of our clients.
