Each year, associates at dozens of Denver’s leading law firms join together to raise funds for the Legal Aid Foundation, which improves access to justice for the community’s most vulnerable populations. This year, Keating Wagner Polidori Free’s attorneys received the award for highest per capita gift for smaller firms. Aaron Goldhamer received the award, which Justice Brian Boatright presented at the April 4 ceremony.
The Legal Aid Foundation’s Associates Campaign has grown by leaps and bounds since it began in 2005, thanks to the leadership demonstrated by young lawyers on behalf of legal aid. This year representatives from 61 firms not only exceeded the last year’s record of nearly $164,000 but they greatly surpassed it by raising over $192,000 in just the month of March.
This year, over 88 percent of all associates at the participating firms made a donation to legal aid and 37 firms achieved 100 percent associate participation. The total number of both associates and non-associates giving at participating firms has also increased tenfold, which shows that young lawyers are not just giving themselves but are encouraging others at their firms to donate as well.
