Keating Wagner Client Takes Golf Course Case to Trial

Yesterday marked the first day of a four-day trial for a Keating Wagner Polidori Free client who is hoping to halt the City of Denver’s plans to reconfigure City Park Golf Course. The underlying lawsuit in the case alleges that the City’s proposal to reroute a storm water retention area near the course violates a charter that designed parks cannot be used for non-park purposes. Under the City’s proposed plan, the golf course would be closed for two years during which time contracts would likely uproot hundreds of well-established trees and other vegetation in an effort to incorporate a flood plain into the grounds. Keating Wagner attorney Aaron Goldhamer is representing former Colorado Attorney General J.D. MacFarlane and several other residents who oppose the plan. The bench trial is before Judge David Goldberg.
